Ligeia Zeruto

Senior Executive Advisor

Ligeia brings 25 years’ experience in national security and proven success within technology startups and Fortune 500s including Amazon Web Services and GlaxoSmithKline and is the Founder of Serpentine Services Group; a boutique cyber and technology partnership advisory company.

Ms. Zeruto is a retired Military Intelligence Officer, decorated combat veteran and contributor to the United States national cybersecurity workforce design and education standards through NICE. She was the lead author for the original US DOD Joint Cyberspace Training and Certification Standards for Cyber Protection Teams (DCO) and provides advisory to various global organizations on cyber challenges. In her military capacity, she led the planning and execution of hundreds of intelligence operations concerning Pacific Asia and against a wide array of foreign intelligence, military, and cyber targets.

Ligeia’s focus centers on cyber threats, organizational risk and security and compliance strategies for public and private organizations. Starting in 2017, she led a year-long program with a group of American cybersecurity military and commercial executive leaders to the first ever Japanese CISO exercises through the Information-technology Protection Agency (IPA). Since then, Ms. Zeruto’s advisory continued with METI, MoF, Japanese transportation, banking and telecommunications companies including NTT Group, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Mitsui, and JR East.

From 2018-2023, Ms. Zeruto led large technology sales groups at AWS which covered all software vendors delivering SaaS for governments, education and non-profit customers throughout the world. She was integral in establishing partnerships for AWS Public Sector in Japan and contributed to cloud migrations and security protocols throughout the region.

Ms. Zeruto was previously appointed as a Commissioner in the State of Maryland for Veterans’ and Military Families, among the first class of women to attend US Army Ranger School, and a Defense Council Member for the Truman National Security Project. She is a Board member for the National Military Intelligence Foundation (USA).

She is a graduate of Furman University, the Pennsylvania State University (Public Health Preparedness-Cyber), Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (East Asia Studies) and executive education from the London School of Economics.
